Primary reason why I chose this product was because I didn't want to trust the drywalls of the garage in the apartment complex I'm in and didn't want the hassle of lifting and worrying about if it's going to hold or fall on my car and where I'll anchor it. (I've used drywall 100lb capable self-drilling, snapping, etc. toggle bolts and I don't like or trust them, nor the drywall for putting things up near my car)Anyhow, it was a breeze to install this standing rack. I got 2. Looks and feels dependable and is high quality.Width-wise, for sure it takes up as much space as the width of the handle bars, otherwise it's a space saver and definitely sturdy. Instructions are clear and even tells you what to do if you have a larger bike. I didn't know the size of my bikes, didn't care to measure. In the end, it seemed like it'd hold much better if I did extend it. So I did, easy to adjust. Been using it for 2 months. Easy to load/unload the bikes. Definitely suggested.
