This is an excellent addition to any home studio where the best thinking is done on your feet instead of on a chair. Sincerely speaking, sitting for long sessions in front of the computer can end up being a literal pain in the butt, while slouching over a work table is uncomfortable after a few moments.I spent an extra 12 bucks to get a non-slip shelf liner and a precision-cut plexiglass, and voila!!, there's the forever-smooth surface for my future sketches, notes, annotations and reference materials. Then I also positioned this lectern in front of the window, and when the daydreaming moments come for new ideas, all I have to do is stare at the sky (just like when I was a kid). It works for me.BTW, it's heavy-duty (55 lbs), and simple enough to never be an eyesore with all the rest of the equipment in the studio. I'm glad I bought it.
