What can I say? I'm in love. It was an adventure finding a sturdy, nice-looking double gong stand (I purchased the Sonic Energy bar, too, that gets added to this stand to make it a double gong stand!) I had originally purchased a Paiste orchestra/double stand online through a well-known gong shop... but I had such a bad experience with that store; they sent me a scratched/gauged/used stand & claimed all their stands were tested beforehand and that's why the gauges were in it. Maybe that was true? Anyway, I ended up needing to pay $80 to return it (not just because of the gauges...it was wobbly!! But I'll get to that later.)A note about the Paiste orchestra/double stand: while it has a slimmer design and is less expensive than this Sonic Energy stand, the Paiste stand doesn't come with holes in the vertical legs for adjusting the height. The way you adjust the height on that stand is to pull the sides up and down and then tighten the screws where you want the height to be set... but you are literally tightening the screws into the vertical sides of the stand (no holes!) Thus, if you then change the height to add a bigger or smaller gong, or to use the stand for just one gong instead of two, there may be gauges in the black steel (and you will see silver through the black) where the screws were tightened in. I understand this may not bother some people, but it's important to note. This Sonic Energy gong stand, on the other hand, has many actual holes built into the sides for adjusting the stand's height.Even more essentially, this Sonic Energy stand is sturdy!!! The Paiste stand swung and wobbled dramatically, which was not okay. Perhaps because that stand didn't have the re-enforcing bar across the bottom of the stand like this one, nor did it have the triangle shaped support system at the bottom, nor was the metal as thick.Side note: this review is not a dig into Paiste, at all!!... I have a Paiste gong and LOVE it!! I will buy more! And Paiste has super nice people working for their company. I have nothing bad to say about Paiste except that their double/orchestra gong stand is epically wobbly and has a poor design as far as the non-holes are concerned. In short, the Sonic Energy stand for sale here (as well as the optional added bar for a 2nd gong) is sturdy, well-designed, nice looking, and generally magical! I also loved buying on Amazon after my bad experience online with that gong store. I know everyone makes jokes about Amazon taking over the world (I'm pretty sure there's even a Black Mirror episode about it...) but I feel a kind of security buying through them, so I can't complain there.Thank you, Sonic Energy, for making such a kick-a** gong stand and selling it here!!
