The photos I have attached would have been very helpful to me when I was ordering; I'm thankful that the stands worked out for me!There are metal dowels that slide through the banner hem at the top and bottom, and then slide into a larger tube at the top and bottom. The banner is secured by raising the upper half of the stand, bringing the banner taught.(I've even got a banner that is wider than the metal top and bottom slots: I used a wooden dowel (cut to length) that supports the banner perfectly!)Even the banners that are narrower than the metal top and bottom slots still looks great! The stand seems sturdy... I wouldn't want to transport it or manhandle it too much in its assembled form (the screw at the bottom is perfect for tying the post to the base... but it is not "industrial" by any means).
