I purchased this cake stand after seeing a similar on a photo. It is beautiful and solid, but I now think that the marble top is way too heavy for the pedestal shape. It has three scratch preventing fabric at the bottom of the pedestal, but at the same time it makes the whole unit a bit more wobbly. I used it yesterday for the first time, and when I when to sliced the cake, it was not sturdy. So, if what you want is a cake stand for photos, and looks, this is it. But at the price tag it might not be something you want to use all the time.
