I've had it for two years - roasted a couple of chickens and two whole hogs. The "U" bolt which you would use to secure the spine of the animal to the rod is a bit short. In the two hog roasts I've done (approximately 45 lb animals each time) it's been just too short to secure. I ordered two from a competing vendor (SpitJack) which are spiked and about twice the length. No problems securing the animal with those. In my first go-around roasting a hog - the lack of the U-bolt was brutal. I used stainless wire to secure the pig more securely - but the amount of "flop" as the pig turned over during rotation was almost fatal. In the second go-around with the extended U bolts (2 of them 1 secured just behind the front hip, and 1 in front of the rear hips) - no flopping at all. Also I used a couple additional forks fore and aft of the animal.Overall the kit is a great starter. However I doubt you'd be able to get a 125 lb animal on spit this length. As is the hanging weight of both hogs was around 65 pounds, and dropped to 45 after being dressed. And they - when secured to the spit, take up nearly the entire length. You could likely do away with the legs - and get the torso of a heavier animal on it, but I'm not sure that's a win either. About 6 hours after getting a hog onto the fire the motor works great - steady turning speed - the only work is keeping the fire fed.Works great but hard to get accessories for a one inch spit rod. Like a basketPretty sweet set-up for roasting a pig. First timer so here are my observations. The pigs turned out great, so lets start there. We roasted (2) 40 lbs. pigs and this set up was just the right size except that we had to cut 4" off of the back feet of the pigs. The spine "U" bolt was not long enough to close around the spine and the spit pole. So I suggest ordering a longer stainless "U" bolt right away. This one would accommodate 2.75in. with spine and pole clamped together. You need 3.5in. to make it work easily. An extra 0.75 inches is needed so total length between inside of "U" and end of threads need to be 3.5 minimum or 3.75in. would be better for larger pigs. The spit pole is ~1.00in. diameter and is really well made as well as stiff enough for the 40lbs. pigs. The motor turns at ~6 RPM and worked very well for the 6-7 hours we ran it next to the fire. It gets hot due to the fire but ran well. The stands bolted together easily. One stand had a mis-aligned hole at the base but still worked well. Seemed like a high quality set-up with some minor correctable issues. Definitly get an appropriately sized spine clamp. The feet and head clamps worked well.I really like the base design and overall it is well built. One aspect which might need attention in your future designs is the Rotisserie rod as It is not a solid rod and with heat and weight of the animal during roasting it may have the potential to degrade and warp in time. I will guard against this by controlling the amount of intense heat directed t the joint when I cook. The one accessory missing is a Rotisserie Balancing device which is a significant needed tool. I had to purchase this balancer device and basically it is not weighted enough for the design/style of Rotisserie I purchased from you. I feel it needs to be adjustable at about 2 - 3 pounds to assist the rotisserie motor from working too hard when roasting full animals.I will have to modify it or fabricate my own.I really like the storage/carry case that came with it, I don't remember it being mentioned in the website.I have a Pit Master's Business named Master's Touch BBQ and this is one of the final tools I needed to complete my BBQ catering services.I had purchased another Universal Rotisserie but it was did not include a base, I thought I could/would fabricate one but it would have been a lot of work to design and fabricate so I returned it and purchased the Titan.
