I was looking for a compact standing desk that would be easy to move between the bedroom and another space I set aside as an office in my apartment. This Luxor gets the job done.The 40-inch by 24-inch desktop is large enough to comfortably hold my MacMini, a 32-inch HP QHD monitor, a 7-port USB hub, external SSDs, and external hard drives, external keyboard, and mouse. There’s more than adequate space remaining for papers, a beverage, mouse pad, and a wrist rest. It’s the perfect size for what I need.The desk is solid both at its minimum height and and at standing desk height, which for my 5’8” height is almost two-thirds of the desk’s full height. The desk rolls easily on carpet and wood floors with the supplied casters. Locking the front casters is helpful on bare floors, but it isn’t necessary on carpeting. The 3-inch casters are large, and they do elevate the desk at sitting position about an inch above optimal sitting height. Another customer who bought this desk suggested buying 2-inch replacement casters to solve the problem. I haven’t looked into replacement casters yet. Cranking the desk up and down takes less than a minute. The crank action is smooth and doesn’t require much effort. It’s also quieter than I expected.I bought the Luxor version of the desk instead of the Standing Desk Store version because it’s less expensive by about $20 to $30. The Standing Desk Store version is $199, but the Standing Desk Store charges $20 to $30 in shipping or more for delivery, depending on where you live. The Luxor version is $206, and it includes free ground shipping. The desk shipped almost immediately from Alabama (I believe) and arrived the third day after I ordered it.I was able to assemble the desk in about 40 minutes, including the time to unwrap the pieces, tools, and screws. The provided instructions are clear and helpful, but I recommend everyone who will assemble the desk watch the Standing Desk Store’s assembly video, which demonstrates what’s described in the printed instructions. Overall, easy assembly is one of this desk’s greatest assets.The desk is solid and well-made. I believe it will hold up nicely over time. It fits well in small spaces, yet provides adequate desktop area to do serious work. It’s comfortable to operate and work at. I definitely got my money’s worth with this excellent purchase.
