I wouldn't normally get a flat-packed type of item, but I needed a quick solution for a guest room lacking nightstands just days before Thanksgiving.Assembly went great. Better than most ikea cabinets I've built. Great instructions, every part is clearly labeled, all structural fasteners are metal, and there are plenty of extras just in case. These qualities alone add a lot of value in my opinion. Took me about an hour to do both of them, mostly because I was distracted by the eight overtimes of that Georgia football game. All you need is a screwdriver; a power drill/driver will help in a couple of places, but just set the clutch low and don't overdrive them. The nightstand itself is pretty good quality at first glance. I like the thick MDF; substantial but lightweight. Looks like a thick wood veneer on it, which is surprising; though, it didn't take much sliding on the floor to scratch one of the drawer fronts a bit. I didn't get any deformation or tearout during assembly. Even comes with matching grain stickers to cover the mostly-hidden screw heads, which is a nice touch. Would have been even great to come with a little matching wax stick for scuffs and scratches.Assembled, they look classy, with the appearance and grain texture of real wood. Square and solid construction. Guests already commented on the convenience of the charging options. They're new, so I can't comment on durability over time yet. As a guest room piece, I expect they will last a good long while.Only things that would improve the complete package might be the inclusion of rubber/felt pads for the bottom; the option (like pre-drilled holes/supports) to hang on the wall for a floating look (with hardware for additional purchase); and higher quality drawer glides in a complementary brown color. All of them can likely be upgraded by the purchaser at any time (I did add rubber feet to mine to protect the wood floors).Good purchase, good value, would recommend.
