Buying this air pump was a gamble. This is the very first review. I've never purchased anything from this company before.But I'm so glad I took the gamble.When I was looking at other pumps available and reading the reviews, I kept finding flaws that made me hesitant to purchase them. One of the few pumps I saw with decent reviews was from this company though, but it required being plugged into a car outlet. Planning on using this for a trip to Tahoe, I knew a number of the places I'd like be starting from wouldn't let me be close enough to the shore to make it practical to inflate and carry the board down to the water. So a rechargeable pump seemed ideal. All of the others I saw seemed to have massive flaws.. Where as this at least was a blank slate. So I purchased it and brought it along.It worked perfectly. Well, nearly.The first time I used it, I panicked a little when the pump hit 1-2PSI and kicked into it's higher mode. The volume increases significantly, though it's honestly not so loud as to be annoying or cause a disturbance. I ended up hand pumping it the rest of the way, but even then this saved me a good 10-15 minutes and a whole lot of back and shoulder ache.The second time I used it, I let it run throughout the whole process. Except, when I thought it was getting close, I accidentally dislodged the connection.. And didn't have a chance to see what the PSI had been at. Reconnecting it to the board made it start all over again from 0 PSI and I had to wait another 10 minutes or so for it to reach 13 PSI, even though the board was likely already there.Regardless, it DID pump up the board properly. Even with using it 1.5 times, the battery indicator was only at 3/4 used. I could have likely used the pump another 3 or 4 times without having drained the battery.The variable connections and options to manually set the PSI are going to be extremely helpful the next time I go group paddling, as I'll be able to happily loan this to my friends after my own board is full, letting us all get out on the water much quicker.Is it perfect? No. There's some minor changes I would suggest making for future versions to improve the item.Are there any major flaws? No.Is it worth buying? 100%
