Many of the new style stands use 2 legs with the pedal as the 3rd leg; this has never worked for me, and the hi-hat stand ends up wobbling. This Ludwig Atlas stand has 3 legs and is heavy-duty in its construction. As a long time drummer (40+ years), it's nice to get good value for your money. This is a hi-hat stand that works well, is rock steady, and is built to last.
