i bought this for my studies of anatomy. it is a budget model so it defiantly has ridges where the mold was put together, and the wire is sharp in places, but it is well built and sturdy. it has all the minor features, such as tubercles, very visible. i was pleasntly surprised at the level of detail. the exceptions are: the sternum, which is just paint on the cartilage, and the inside of the skull, which lacks some of the smaller foramen and has a big chunk you cant see due to hardware for mounting (it has an option to hang from head). otherwise its great, the arms pronate and supinate. they wired the scapula to the ribs so the movement is limited there. i am considering unwiring it. i read people had trouble putting it together, i cant imagine how, it was very easy. there where small screws and pins that had come undone during shipping, so open carefully. it is however really easy to figure out how to put it back together. pair this with a set of washable markers for indicating origin and insertion and you have an excellent study aide.Poor Bucky . . . he did not meet my expectations based on other reviews. I knew he was a "budget" skeleton, but there were so many issues with him he had to go back. He did not come with directions for assembling. The stand with four wheels is not suitable for stability in a classroom of young children. A fellow teacher has a model with five wheels and it is MUCH more stable. The stand that the wheels were attached to already had rust on it.A thin metal rod was missing at the end of one humerus so the lower leg could not be attached. The rod could not be attached even if one had been sent - it was something that had to be inserted during the manufacturing process. Finally, there were a number of sharp places sticking out on the bones that should have been filed smooth. I actually cut open my finger on a sharp spot in the middle of the sternum. Maybe I just got a "lemon", but there were too many things wrong for me, even at that price.I had a more expensive, higher quality skeleton that finally gave up the ghost. This version is of a lesser quality and the joints are not as easily moveable, but it suffices for my office needs. The cast iron stand is quite heavy and solid compared to the previous models which were plastic.I just use it to show things to my clients...not for teaching a class. For the price it's a great product!!! There are extra parts that come with it, and the directions aren't very straight forward, but it's not that bad...only reason I won't give it a 5 at the price. The skeleton worked well for my studies. The features are not as clean and pure as they are on the more expensive skeletons, but they were good enough. Only problem I had was that the hands were assembled on the wrong arms. But I figured out how to detach them and fix it.Very disappointed with this purchase. The packaging was very beat up (even the boxes inside the packaging box were damaged). When I opened the box, the skeleton appeared to have been tossed in the box and there was nothing protecting it. The bones on the skeleton I received are all very loose. The patellar bone is barely attached the the femur and the elbows look like they could easily detach. I am also missing the hardware to attach the arm to the skeleton, which makes it pretty useless for me. The pieces to attach both legs were scattered throughout the box. For the price I paid I'm very disappointed. The one feature that I would like is for the bones themselves to be marked so that a student can easily determine the bone without having to go to a diagram.Mr. Bones is exactly what we wanted to have as a new member of our family. He is quiet, a great protector, and a little spooky with all his knowledge of anatomy and physiology. He did arrive a bit jaundiced, but that's okay; it won't kill him. The kids love their new friend! Best of all, he loves dressing up on Halloween!
