The stand is too high for my computer. However, it is perfect to put my notes on to type. It is easy to use.this is my first product review mainly because this stand is so good it motivated me to finally write a product review... Its sturdy and holds my macbook pro 16 inch perfect. very cool it has easily change able clip so i can mount monitor or laptop...price is high, but quality is beyond expectations.I bought this for my son for Christmas last year. He loves it! He is a PhD student. This makes his lab work easier he says. It attaches well to the counter and hold his beloved new MacBook well.I bought this after taking measurements but ended up it wasn’t quite as adjustable as it appears pictured. It extended out the right amount of distance away however it didn’t quite come up as high as I needed it at that distance. Returned it.Hard to use productively as the laptop moves around every time you touch itThis arm works really nicely, and supports my 15" Acer Triton 500 very nicely. The arm is a retrofit VESA 100 arm (and actually includes a VESA 100 plate), but uses a thumb-screw quick release to change the plates so I'm not complaining about potential extra utility. It went together very easily, and moves very easily once you have it assembled. I would dislike that in a monitor arm, but for a laptop that still sees use despite having a desktop setup, it's very nice to be able to easily swing it towards and away from me.My one big gripe is that it uses cutouts on the side support tines to allow for port access. However, you can't adjust where these cutout holes sit, so some ports (like my laptop's ethernet) are blocked. I had to add a couple 2mm shims to the tray so I could use the Thunderbolt 3 port. Your mileage may vary, but SOME ports will be blocked when using this, so have some shims available. The side tines grip the laptop tight enough I could probably take the shims out and not have it move, but I don't want to risk it sliding and putting pressure on the cables.Let's get this out of the way, for the amount of money you pay you probably won't find anything better. For a much better arm + laptop mount/tray, you are looking at paying around 150 usd compared to 80 bucks for this. That said, let's dive into the positives:+ Sufficiently sturdy+ Flexible/very adjustable+ Nice looking (for the money)+ Easy to build+ Laptop holder feels secure+ Doesn't feel flimsy+ Cheap ($ wise)The negatives:- Bad shaft/forearm hole clearances- Laptop holder prevents use of side USB/HDMI ports- Cheap (quality wise)The biggest problem with my particular stand is that the clearance between the stand shaft and the plastic sleeve in the forearm hole are too big! This means that when the laptop is in position, it's weight tugs on the forearm, and due to the big clearance the forearm tilts several degrees, causing the laptop screen to be substantially tilted. There is nearly nothing you can do because the part where the gas arm meets the laptop tray does not have tilt adjustability like my more expensive monitor arm. If you check my pictures I had to use some folded cardstock and shimmy them into the gap to try and correct the issue. Looks horrible and doesn't fix it completely. That said, I don't have more time or money to buy a better quality one, so I'll have to live with it for now. For how cheap it is it does the job fine, and while the clearances and QC are not too good, the arm does feel sturdy. If you are on a budget I would suggest you stop looking and get this. If you can afford it I would suggest the Amazon Basics arm, or a gorgeous Ergotron arm if you are balling, and a VESA laptop tray of your choice.
