Contrary to what some other reviewers have said, I can confirm 100% that Apple Pencil (2nd generation) will both charge normally and stay securely attached magnetically when using this case! It’s important to note that this is the “2021” version of this case, and Mous claims it is only compatible with the 12.9” iPad Pro (5th generation), which is what I’m using.—I’ve had this case for a few days now and overall I’m really impressed. I use my iPad for architectural photography (connected wirelessly to my camera) so I’m often carrying it around outside. For over a year I’ve only had the Apple Smart Folio—which is fantastic—but after dropping it a few times (luckily just in grass) I decided to invest in something more protective. I first purchased the Otterbox Defender Pro case and immediately returned it. Seriously, I was blown away by how awful and flimsy it felt, especially around the latch for Apple Pencil. I considered trying the Zugu case next which everyone seems to recommend, but I’m just not a fan of the style (most of the pictures don’t show you the gaudy lion/crest pattern imprinted on the suede when you open it up). So that’s what brought me to this case.It was hard to find much current/useful information about this case before purchasing, so here are answers to a few of the questions/concerns I had:1) The case feels VERY solid and well constructed, but it’s heavier than you probably expect. I would compare the weight with iPad inside to that of a 13” MacBook Pro.2) The front screen cover functions just like the Apple Smart Folio to automatically sleep/wake the iPad.3) You can open and fold the screen cover “magazine style” flat behind the iPad and the magnets will hold it, including the little pencil flap, securely in that position.4) The edge of the kickstand on the back has magnets and gives a satisfying little “snap” when positioned in each of the grooves.5) The hole for the USB-C port is nice and roomy. I have a few chunky cables and they all fit completely inside. As I said, so far I’m impressed. In my opinion, this is definitely the best of the “rugged” cases that still look semi-normal and doesn’t suffer from some catastrophic design flaw (and if I ever notice one, trust that I’m petty enough to come back and edit this review).
