This is a sturdy iPad stand, strong on security, which is what it’s meant for. It’s best for someone who uses their device in a fixed location most of the time, or someone who frequents coffeeshops, likes to stay awhile and wants to secure their device so they can walk away to purchase/socialize/whatever and not have to worry about someone grabbing it. Very good hinge flexibility and the 360 degree rotation works great. It has a fiber tipped stylus included which is attached to the base (removable) but the cord is too short. It has tiny coils so maybe can be stretched out after awhile, or you can just detach it.Things I didn’t like or were a problem for me:—I use my iPad at home and don’t need to secure it but wanted a stand to occasionally use at my desk and for when I’m away. This stand is not portable in that way, there is no alternate way of opening and closing it without using a key to release a latch, you don’t have a choice to lock or not lock, which was disappointing.—There is no opening in the side of the stand to plug in your charging cable, you have to open (unlock) the case, thread the cable through a hole at the bottom, bypass two screw ends (which are very sharp-see pic) then plug it in, then close and lock the stand again. Since I share a cable between several devices and am always switching plugins, this will not work for me. I may just use this when going away on vacation for security purposes.—As far as traveling goes, it is described as lying almost flat - it doesn’t really, it is a little bulky and will take some significant space in your suitcase.—The base is too small for the weight of the metal stand as well as the added weight of the security hardware, making it cumbersome to carry, a lot of sharp metal edges everywhere, no specific secure place to hold on to.Improvements in design would be welcome on future models. Because the stand was designed to accommodate four different devices, it resulted in a somewhat awkward configuration and prevented the availability of a ‘convenient’ opening for your cable (a basic and important need), and not having a choice to lock or not lock greatly reduces its versatility.Overall, if your priority is security for your device and you don’t mind the caveats mentioned, I would recommend this stand.
