I got this so I could avoid all the lengthy sessions of working while seated. [Remote IT worker]. I really like it ... a lot.One caveat though, I haven't yet used it while seated - so I can't report on the ergonomics/usability in that configuration. It does move up/down easily and locks in place firmly, in its preset positions. Mine went all the way up and stayed there [so far]. The main reason I haven't tried it seated is I have it on a counter top that has some wall mounted shelving behind the monitors & this unit needs a little bit of room behind it to descend. This is not a product defect - if that hard mounted shelf wasn't there [and it won't be for long]: it would drop easily. I could still drop it by pulling the monitors all the way forward - just haven't done that yet.* Setup was a total breeze: unpack it, place & position it where you want, put stuff on it and go.* Well built, sturdy and really important to me: very stable - especially the keyboard tray, which doesn't slide in or out or bounce while in use.* Attractive. Prior to receiving it, I had the back woods version: two monitors up on tidy cat litter buckets - keyboard on stuff stacked on a chair. :-). Nice matte finish on the metal parts and the two surfaces are a really cool black sheen.* Designed for ergonomics - the top surface front cut-out gives you a nice look at the keyboard, while providing 2 neat projections for your hands/drink/mouse, etc. The keyboard tray height is maybe a tad low for me: in the top position it's ~1.5" below my elbow [I'm 5'9"]. I ended up using some of the packing material under my keyboard to build it up 1.5" so my forearms are now level while typing. In the low/seated position, it might be perfect [dunno].* OK a little funny for some: the packing material had some of the thickest, strongest cardboard panels I've ever seen. If you had enough of the [2] large panels, you could build an interior wall that would actually be pretty strong. I like to re-purpose stuff and love this cardboard. :-)It came pretty quickly and I went cold turkey from being a slouchy programmer to a stand up guy the day I got it. Took my feet a while to get with the program, but they're getting there. I found I seem to be more alert and seem to have more energy during the day now. Took me a little while to get used to doing the real focused/intense coding while standing ... not sure why - maybe being seated is associated with hard focus for me. But, this too has come around. For those of you spending gobs of time sitting in front of a workstation all day ... consider something like this and you'll probably like it too. And this product seems the best price point for a solid offering in the line of standing desks.
