I am a singing drummer. I bought this to replace the $99 gator ID series mic boom stand. The gator is very cool looking but does not work well for me with a flexible gooseneck that I use to allow me to sing and play drums. Very top heavy when raised up high enough to allow me to play drums. I was also having to constantly tighten the main wing nut on the gator bc the mic boom was constantly lowering. Lost one of the rubber feet on my first gig with it. Ugh! No more problems now that I have the tama stand. The tama is very heavy and everything on it is built for strength. No more worries about it tipping over during a performance or mic droop. Spent about 150 bucks on it. Last stand I will ever have to buy! Warning, it is heavy; however, I am confident that my mic will not come crashing down on me or my expensive drums. 100% recommend!!!!! Thanks amazon and tama!
