This mike stand is extremely versatile; it can also be extended above 6 feet, so a Microphone can be pointed downwards, permitting a lone videographer to have a shotgun mike above the talent, if there's nobody else available to hold a boom. The flat tripod base makes this mike stand reasonably stable for stage use.I gave it four stars because it's not suitable for use with drums or guitar recording due to it requiring more room than some band set ups may allow. Another reason is that there is no carry bag included, and the movable parts are made of plastic; which will not stand up to constant Roadie use.Besides the negatives, this mike stand represents good value for money.
