It's a really good intermittent for the money inexpensive and good qualityOrdered for my nephew and he was thrilled with it.Awesome product, works just as expected for its price, it is an ideal setup for beginners. Martin Smith is a very budget friendly company. The guitar is decent quality. The strings loosen quite easily but I am not even close to an expert on guitars so that might be completely normal. It comes with a raincoat type material case, a tuner that takes batteries and has a little clip on it as well as picks and a case for them. It does not come with a stand I wish it had so I didn’t have to lean it on the wall. I’m not sure why the picture shows a stand or why it is advertised as being included. My kids played with it a lot the first day it’s handle (sorry if that’s the wrong word) is large and my ten year old is not able to wrap her hand around it. It comes with a strap that fit her well but does not fit a small adult.Good for beginners. It is not a high quality product but it works for people who are starting in the world of playing a guitar and also for a good price. My previous review was only one star because I received the guitar totally smashed, but, I realized this sad inconvenient had been caused for the carrier company (USPS, UPS, whatever) and not for the manufacturer. So, give them a chance.I'm sure there'll be more to come later, but for now, three things. First off, I've been a musician all my life, and even though I'm left-handed, I played guitar, just "upside-down and backward" as my friends said. About 5 years ago I had a stroke which paralyzed my left side but didn't want that to totally kill my music, so I bought this guy to try and train myself to play "the right way". Now for the beef. Number one, I was led to believe that these guitars were made in Great Britain, yet right on the shipping box it proudly states "Made in China." Number two, the tuner that came with this fellow simply will not accept a battery, however, this may have more to do with the fact that my left hand is paralyzed than any defect. I'm going to see if my son (who's also a musician) can get it to fit. In the meantime, I tuned using a tuner app on my cellphone. Last (for now) is the action. It's not bad on the lower frets up toward the nut, but further down by the body the strings ride extremely high. I may take him to a buddy of mine in a music shop and see if he can adjust the action for me.Other than these three things, the body finish is perfect, the frets aren't jagged, there's no noticeable fret buzz and the sound is fine. I may be putting on some different strings soon though, probably nylon, as that's just what I was used to before the stroke.Oh well, that's about it for now. I'm sure I'll have later though. As usual, thanks for the superb service Amazon. You guys are the greatest!!!! I'm just glad this guy didn't have to ship all the way from China!!!!This guitar i bought has marks on it and also the strings are sharp and also the metal bars on the gutar are sharp and have cut me, can i exchange it?I bought this for my niece as a birthday gift. She loves it and hasn't put it down. Hopefully it will be a start a lifetime of joy.The bag is either misprinted or a fake. As you can see in the photo it says "Matin Smith" instead of "Martin Smith". Also the circular logo isn't correct.Let me be clear, this is amazing value and if you're considering it as a beginner - I highly recommend it. However, on principle I am rating this 1 star as fake/knock-off items are not acceptable.Really nice quality guitar. My teenage son is 5ft 9 and 'fits' him perfectly.Only his first guitar but uses it for all his lessons and it plays really nicely. His teacher also said it's really nice quality.Would definitely recommendThis has to be the best complete package deal out there. The guitar may not be the best but as a brand new beginner it's perfect for toughening up my fingers, learning cords and how to change strings or anything else, adjusting the nut etc. The thing is, at this price I can learn all this without worrying about damaging my yamaha (if I had one). The neck is straight and when my fingers get used to the strangeness of it all, and toughen up I will be able to play along just as well as I could with any of the more expensive ones. This instrument has started me on my path and I love it.Arrived in plenty of time for my daughters birthday. I’ve just opened it to have a peek. Oh it’s LOVELY! Everything that’s needed for a beginner! All packaged well. I actually never thought I’d be so excited for her birthday as I used to be when she was little - now she’s almost 20! But I honestly can’t wait To see her face! I KNOW she’s going to LOVE it! ?Made in China it says on the box, which these days means you can't be sure of the quality - it could be great or it could be poor. For me, this guitar package is somewhere in the middle. The stand, strap and tuner are poor. The stand doesn't reliably support the guitar - it's a poor design - especially when you attach a strap to the guitar. The supplied strap is complete rubbish - bin it and get a better one. The tuner is OK, but the one I have won't let me check the guitar intonation - I have other clip-on tuners that do allow me to pluck the strings at the 12th fret to see how far out things are. The guitar itself is a mixed bag. It feels solid enough, but it doesn't sound that great with the pre-fitted strings. It lacks timbre. I changed the strings to a set of Adagio Phosphor Bronze 12's and I think it sounds a bit better, but not massively better. It still sounds a bit thin to me. Laminated topboard, I guess. The frets are reasonably well fitted and finished. The string action is OK, though I do get a bit of buzzing sometimes. The intonation is out a bit - I expected that and I guess it's not too bad - but I've not been able to fix it (though I'm no luthier.) The tuning pegs are OK. I'm not sure whether the truss rod does much when you adjust it. There is a small cosmetic imperfection on the topboard - a smudge of the black paint from the side found it's way onto the pine-coloured topboard prior to the veneer finish going on. It's noticable and somewhat spoils the look of the guitar. The factory that made the guitar needs better quality control. If the guitar had my name on it, I wouldn't be happy with it shipping with this type of cosmetic fault on the topboard. It's sloppy and it doesn't make me think positively about the brand. Overall I suppose it's OK, given the price.
