I gave this as a gift. As the pieces were taken out of the box, the following was noticed:Negative:- the wood was of poor quality- the were various cracks/splits in the wood where the manufacturer had drilled in screws. they must not have pre drilled the holes.- there was a small piece of wood at a corner that was cracked off- assembly is not for a novice since there were no pre drilled holes where the pieces had to be put together- the assembly instructions rivaled IKEA’s and were missing a few steps- the assembly required a drill, drill bits, wood glue, wood putty and some skill.Positive:- she stated it was plumb and the all pieces aligned nicely once fully assembled.Overall:I would’ve returned this immediately and I was embarrassed since it was a gift. The only reason I didn’t was because the receiver of the gift is handy and saw it as a fun challenge to assemble and fix it on her birthday.This is definitely not what I expected for the price.
