I like this piece, but it does have a little flaw. The metal screw holes in the top of the cabinet are not secured properly and when I tried to screw the vertical metal pieces in place they actually pulled up out of the wood. I super glued them back in but one of them pulled out again so it damaged the wood underneath a little bit. It's not noticeable enough to consider returning it. I agree with others that the maker clearly heard the complaints about the problems with the folder tabs because I have no problem with clearance when I close the drawer.Perfect for home office. Bought with credenza, computer table and conference table.Overall, very satisfied. It's well built, and the instructions were simple to follow. One thing to note is DO NOT buy this if having a locked drawer is important to you. The locked drawer is below a smaller, unsecured, cabinet with nothing in between. This means any idiot could just remove the top drawer and have full access to your "locked" drawer. As a bookshelf/organizer: 5 stars. As a secure drawer: 1 star. Hence, 4-star review.Product was sturdy and looked as advertised. Customer support was extremely responsive and helpful when I found there was a missing pieceThese shelves are very sturdy and I really like the look of them. The instructions are pretty good. They could have been better if some of the pictures had been larger and/or had more details in terms of which side goes up/down/etc although the times when I did try to put it together the wrong way, it was designed so that it wouldn't fit, so that was good. But they were not too hard to put together. Also, the customer service was very good. I had a defective part and when I contacted them about it they were very responsive and shipped me a new part. It did take a couple weeks to get here, but each time I inquired about it, they responded quickly and updated me with the status/tracking information. There were two things I was disappointed in. 1) The shelves are not quite tall enough for a 3-ring binder to stand upright. Not that big of a deal though. 2) The main reason I decided on these was because of the big file drawer, which ended up not working very well as a file drawer because a) the rods that the files hang on are too wide, so while they do hang there they are very easy to knock off. b) the rods are too high, so that if you have file folders with tabs at the top, they are too tall, even though there is plenty of space at the bottom, so if the rods had been a little lower it would have worked fine. That said, I did come up with a solution to this problem. I actually bought two of these shelves, so the first one, I am just using the file drawer as a regular drawer, but when I put together the 2nd one, I left off the two interior file hanging rods, to keep the space open; and then I just bought some file boxes and put those inside the drawer. They fit perfect and had plenty of room for the tabs at the top since they are sitting all the way in the bottom of the drawer.Very helpful. If you follow the instructions it’s easy to assemble once you get over the shock of the large number of pieces and parts! Very sturdy!I looked for months for a filing cabinet for our small house that looked more like furniture and this fit the bill. Easy to put together, despite the intimidating directions and 1,000 parts. Directions were straight forward. Lock is cheap and doesn't work. Not worth the trouble to return and I don't really need a lock. Looks great in my space.Screw holes were not in the right places vs the instructions for assembly. Instructions are difficult to follow. This company would do well to hire a proficient technical writer as I have made two purchases from them this year and both sets of instructions were wacky and backwards.
