This is billed as an "instrument" microphone but it excels for vocals. I'm getting very good clarity/intelligibility with the Lewitt MTP 440, my lyrics/speech are much more "understandable" both in the monitors and front-of-house. The MTP 440 also has excellent gain-before-feedback and low handling noise. I also regularly use the Shure SM58, AKG330, and EV ND96, all perform well for vocals but the Lewitt MTP 440 is my favorite so far for live vocals due to the enhanced intelligibility.I am a long-time fan of the AKG microphones, and I'm very impressed with their former engineers' work with the Lewitt brand. Everything I love about my vintage AKG dynamics (like the D1000, D330, etc) is there in the Lewitt microphones, very reasonably priced for the quality you get.The bundle included a boom-stand + XLR cable from "On-Stage Stands," both of the high quality I expect from them. "On-Stage-Stands" has been my go-to brand for decades on guitar/microphone stands. (Their guitar stands are especially good, I have never had their padded parts mar an instrument's nitro-lacquer finish the way some stands do.) I got the bundle for the microphone's regular-price, so this was a great deal overall! If you're after a microphone that will really get your lyrics out there understandably, I highly recommend the Lewitt MTP 440. If you're a fan of the old AKG stuff, I definitely recommend it because Lewitt is doing a great job of keeping that tradition going (much as Leo Fender went on with Music Man and G&L, as I understand it the Lewitt company is staffed by former AKG engineers.)I also bought a Lewitt 240 studio condenser from the same vendor, I haven't used it enough yet to properly review it but I have every confidence it will be in line with the AKG quality-wise (it appears well-built and has a nice custom shock-mount/pop-filter.)
