We didn't want to drill into the tile around our shower to put up towel bars, but we had very limited space for a towel rack. This rack is a perfect size. The footprint is 10" deep by 16" wide. The stainless steel towel bars are 13" wide inside the supports. We hang up our bath towels on the top two rungs, folded almost in thirds to fit, but not fully overlapped. The towels get enough air to dry out completely in the 23.5 hours or so between showers. The teak is already warm and oiled looking and we did not have to treat it ourselves, but it might be necessary in the future since it is in the moist environment of the bathroom, although it does not get any direct water spray.
