Over the last few years I have bought about ten of these units, to feed or out-feed woodworking and metal working machinery (table saws, band saws, horizontal band saw, etc.). They are far above the usual roller stand. In the first place they have three legs, so they don't rock like those with four legs or two pipe feet. Secondly, they are easy to adjust, with a tightening lever which is easy to use, firm, and doesn't hurt the hand. Thirdly, they are heavy and well built, using machined iron castings for the feet and head unit. The three legs have holes for machinery mounts, which I recommend, as that adds a little height and is easier on a coated floor. My only complaint is that the height is not quite enough for some of my machinery, so I have to scrounge to find a piece of pipe to replace the pipe supplied for the vertical mast.
