I work in an eye exam office and we needed to secure several laptops to a desk or sometimes to an arm. This product was recommended by another office. It is based on 4 rubber pads that have to be glued on the bottom of the laptop. They are permanently bonded, so your laptop will be having them for good.If that does not bother you keep reading.Once you put the rubber pads on the back, there is a metal plate that locks the laptop in place on another metal plate. Then a 'lockbar' comes in the back and holds everything in place.We have 4 eye exam rooms and now we can move one laptop to another easily and lock it in place in no time. This is an interchangeable system.We need to lock these laptops because the eye exam software on them is insanely expensive and very hard to re-instal. If we have a laptop of slip and fall , or theft during a burglary, that would be a disaster for us.On of the laptops is mounted on an Arm, and it has to stay there on different angles and be moved around. It had to be secured.There are other laptop security methods that have a bar across the laptop where the screen hinge is. We did not like those since we need to close the laptop lid at the end of the shift.Also there are various cables to secure laptops, but a good yank will always turn the laptop loose.This seemed to be the only solution for our application and I am glad we found it.
