The base plates have a good weight to them to keep the stand upright and prevent falls. I love that the base plates are flat as well! No weird feet to hide or trip over. The plates have padding on the bottom so I didn't have to worry about scratching wood floors when used in a school gym for a dance. The only thing I wish it had that it doesn't is a good carry bag to keep everything together and make transport a bit easier. Otherwise, it's sturdy enough to support a shimmer wall with no issues and good quality. It's easy to put together and adjust. I recommend and would definitely buy it again if I have a need for a second one.
