This is a very sturdy, functional and 'Apple' looking design piece. It holds the iPad in either portrait or landscape positions very securely and at a comfortable height and angle if using a bluetooth keyboard. The design also allows a nice niche for storing the keyboard below the iPad. Additionally, the cable can route through the open slot in the back of this stand and keep the cable nicely tucked away. The silver finish stand is beautiful and a perfect match to Apple's aluminum finish products. It is more costly than the black version and I can't say the higher price is necessarily worth it. I bit the bullet and very happy with the product but I do feel the cost is too high. The weight of this unit is perfectly balanced to keep your iPad or other tablet properly secured. This stand is not intended for portability nor was it designed for that, so the weight should not be a deterrent but more of a positive. I have another stand that I like but it is not as sturdy nor as appealing as this stand. I would give this stand a 4 1/2 star rating; half star deduction for the high price. But I think it is worthy of a five star rating and I would recommend this stand to anyone with a tablet.
