I'm going to start with my Second point first: the table is a great size, simple, fits my hanging chair perfectly, meaning I can pull it inside the frame as a desk as well as have it higher, like a monitor, and use a lap desk for keyboard and mouse. That’s the type of flexibility I’ve been looking for! It’s sturdy and stable, even with a lot of weight on it. I wish it came in black because, though the brown surface looks good enough, that material could get torn over time and it would be easier to hide with black sharpie than the brown wood look, but it looks good enough now (nothing fancy but nice enough for what it does... it did arrive with a small blemish on the back edge, but returning it would not have been a problem)I'm very happy with the size. I wish it was a tad shorter so my hanging chair would swing over it without having to raise the chair a few lints but that's a VERY specific use case!FYI, Anything that is smooth is very slippery, BUT anything with a little grip really grips. So laptops with rubber feet will stay pretty well if the table is bumped but a mouse without a pad will slide. Now that it works, it works wonderfully! Goes up and down easily, behaves as expected, all that.I say that because my INITIAL rating/review (and thus my First point) was was low because I got one that would not go down, it was stuck only going up. I'm revising it because I figured out that issue, it was a super easy fix, the seller was very good to work with, etc. In case it happens to someone else and they search for it, the problem was that the cable latch was mounted just a few paper widths too close to the table--the table bottom itself stopped it from that last bit of retraction that released the gas’s that makes it stay in place. All that was required to fix it was either some cardboard in between desk and stand mount or drilling a little dimple for the latch to fall into. I'm sure it was a rare oddity---ALL manufacturing tends to have about 5% little issues that come up, which they account for with over runs, so this was really no big deal, once the issue was identified. The point is, the seller was on top of it, the table works very well and fits my needs, so well I bought a second so I don't have to carry one between front porch and back porch!
