This stand is a lot sturdier and more stable than it looks in the product photographs. It's weighty - 20 kg. This substantial mass does a good job of anchoring the stand in place (the castors can lock to prevent the stand from rolling). The base is wide and deep, resulting in excellent weight distribution and good stability. Building the stand is a quick and easy task. All materials look and feel premium (as they should, given the stand's highish price tag). The lower shelf (just above the castors) can, according to the manufacturer, safely support 30 kg, while the narrower shelf slightly higher up has a max safe load weight of 10 kg. Having one or both of these shelves loaded enhances the stability of the stand by lowering its centre of gravity. Plus the shelves are handy for storing AV equipment such as DVD players, subwoofers, speakers, gaming consoles, etc. Adjusting the height of the smaller shelf and/or the TV attached to the stand is a breeze, as is locking/unlocking the castors. This user-friendly stand is suitable for widescreen TVs ranging in size from 40"-86". Moving a big TV around once it's on the stand is practically effortless - a whole lot easier than heaving a TV around manually, and safer too (for the lifter and the television).I've no criticisms of this product. It's not cheap, but it is a quality piece of kit. In this instance you get what you pay for.
